Overview

The Security Analyst II position:

 

  • Assists with designing and implementing information security standards for the organization's applications and databases in order to protect against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction.
  • Understands basic internet architecture and firewall configuration to protect the organization's system security.
  • Collaborates with a security team to provide application development, database design, and network maintenance support.
  • Assists with researching and advocating for the latest technologies and solutions that support security requirements for internal and external customers.
  • Supports analyzing, investigating, and recommending ways to improve security technologies for the organization by monitoring data trends.
  • Stays abreast of current malware and other potential internet security threats to apply to the organization.

 

The Security Analyst II position would work with products in the following areas:

  • Operational Security – file transfer, vendor remote support, SOAR, SIEM, endpoint protection, certificate management
  • Vulnerability Management – vulnerability scanner, DevSecOps products
  • Data Protections – CASB and database management
  • Network Security – firewalls, client VPNs, NAC

Responsibilities

 

 
Interfaces with other Information and Technology Services teams to ensure infomation security related procedures and configurations are followed, updated and implemented.

Provides general support for all IT activities related to data and information security.

Provides specific support for information security through execution of manual processes or creation and monitoring of automated procedures.

Works with team members to maintain IT systems security applications, configurations and programs.

Qualifications

 

EDUCATION:
Required:
Bachelor's degree with 3 years? experience in relevant field, or
Associate's degree with 8 years' experience in relevant field, or
High school diploma with 13 years' experience in relevant field.
Preferred:
Bachelor?s degree in computer science, programming, analytics or other technical field.

 

EXPERIENCE:
Required:
3 years experience in information systems or business-related internships or employment experiences required
Preferred:
Prior work experience with the following information systems technologies highly desirable:
? Desktop applications (MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-Powerpoint, etc.)
? Databases (MS-Access, MS SQL, Oracle, etc.)
? Operating Systems (Windows, Linux, AIX).

 

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
REQUIRED
Valid Driver's License | Valid Driver's License
PREFERRED
Preferred:
CISSP certification or equivalent (or eligibility for certification) within two years of starting the position.
(Eligibility for certification is defined as having a passing grade on pre-certification exam.)
