Description

Counterintelligence/Security Specialist

Overall Assignment Description:

Perform technical duties, tasks, and responsibilities as defined in the contract Performance Work Statement and the Counterintelligence/Security Position Description.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Secure the Program of Record (PoR) environment that is developing, testing, deploying and sustaining algorithmic warfare initiatives and operations, and provide expert and innovative CI/Security services to a team focused on rapid fielding of PoR products and mission success.
  • Create and sustain initiatives that support PM timelines and objectives, while maintaining compliance with applicable national security requirements
  • Demonstrate energy, experience, subject matter expertise, sound judgement, foresight and problem-solving skills, excellent organizational and communication skills, excellent research and data-gathering skills, interpretation/analysis of complex information skills
  • In collaboration with NGA Maven leadership, support implementation of Program Protection Planning, facilitate the comprehensive development and execution of a Program Protection Strategy, along with the desired protection success criteria, CI Support Plans (CISP), company threat assessments, OPSEC plans, classification/marking review and other planning documents as directed
  • Communicate effectively across all DoD and USIC elements, as well as with academic and industrial organizations 
  • Identify and maintain relationships outside of the program that help in the development of NGA Maven Program Protection objectives, including Commercial Vendor Outreach, Security and CI familiarization, and Intelligence and Security Community Coordination/De-confliction.
  • Expertly engage in CI/Security activities, as permitted by law and policy, in support of NGA Maven objectives.  Examples include: conducting CI analysis in support of NGA Maven requirements, providing CI travel alerts/threat advisories to NGA Maven staff, providing CI training to NGA Maven staff and vendors, developing CI requirements, engaging with DoD and USIC partners to obtain needed CI/IC support (including cyber and investigations) and conduct CI open-source collection.
  • Prepare and present tailored CI/Security briefings for/to NGA Maven leadership, senior level staff and vendors.
  • Provide continuous support, advice and counsel to the NGA Maven Program Protection (P2) government lead regarding CI, general security, insider threat matters and management of a myriad of P2-related issues.
  • Further collaboration and interaction between NGA Maven and the NGA Academic Engagement Working Group relating to academic partnerships and future processes effecting Maven’s AI/ML efforts.

Qualifications

 Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 15 years of operational and/or investigative CI-related experience in a DoD or USIC capacity along with relevant CI training and certifications.

Desired:

  • 15+ years of operational and/or investigative CI-related experience in a DoD or USIC capacity along with relevant CI training and certifications.

Clearance:

  • Active TS/SCI.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher level degree).
  • Badge/Credentials from a DoD CI/HUMINT training entity

Travel:

  • Up to 20%
