Company Overview: PCG Consulting Group is a minority-owned consulting firm based in Chicago, IL, specializing in providing comprehensive cybersecurity solutions to businesses. We are currently seeking a Part-Time Cybersecurity Engineer/Auditor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have led their own cybersecurity projects in the past and will assist in evaluating and enhancing the security posture of our clients' IT systems and infrastructure.


Job Description: The Part-Time Cybersecurity Engineer/Auditor will be responsible for leading cybersecurity projects, including assessing the cybersecurity measures of our clients' IT systems and infrastructure, identifying vulnerabilities, and recommending solutions to mitigate risks. This role will involve conducting cybersecurity audits, analyzing security controls, and providing technical expertise to enhance overall security posture. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cybersecurity engineering, with experience in leading and managing security projects.


Requirements

  • Leading cybersecurity projects from inception to completion.
  • Conducting cybersecurity assessments and audits of IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Identifying security vulnerabilities and recommending remediation measures.
  • Analyzing security controls and configurations to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Providing technical guidance and expertise on cybersecurity best practices.
  • Collaborating with clients to develop customized cybersecurity solutions.
  • Documenting assessment findings and recommendations in detailed reports.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering or auditing, with a track record of leading projects.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices.
  • Experience with cybersecurity assessment tools and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of security standards and regulations (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ preferred.
