Infrastructure Delivery– Network Security

Moneris is seeking an Infrastructure Delivery Lead who combines deep technical expertise in network security and application networking with the delivery leadership to drive complex infrastructure initiatives from conception to production. You will act as the technical authority for network security and infrastructure programs — owning delivery, guiding SMEs, and ensuring every deployment meets Moneris’ standards for security, automation, and resilience.

Location: Toronto office — in-office collaboration with remote flexibility.

Reporting Relationship: You will report to the Manager, Systems Infrastructure.

Posting Type: Replacement Position

Salary Range: $113,282 – $148,682 base, benchmarked at the senior architect level, with variable compensation on top of base.

Technical Delivery & Ownership

• Own the technical delivery of network security and infrastructure initiatives end-to-end — from requirements and design through implementation and operational handoff
• Serve as the single technical point of accountability, ensuring alignment across engineering teams, SMEs, architects, and vendors throughout the delivery lifecycle
• Drive technical execution with a focus on security, resilience, performance, and automation — not just getting it done, but getting it done right
• Perform hands-on engineering when needed to validate designs, unblock teams, or accelerate delivery (firewall configurations, load balancer policies, migration testing, automation scripts)

SME Direction & Coordination

• Guide network, security, cloud, and infrastructure SMEs through detailed implementation plans, ensuring tasks are understood, sequenced, and executed with accuracy
• Review and validate build artifacts including configurations, security policies, automation scripts, and deployment plans
• Act as the escalation point for critical issues during design, deployment, and post-implementation validation

Infrastructure & Network Security Execution

• Lead implementation of network security solutions including Palo Alto firewalls, network segmentation, WAF, and policy enforcement across on-prem and hybrid environments
• Deliver application load balancing and enterprise application networking solutions, primarily leveraging F5 BIG-IP
• Engineer and deliver hybrid network architecture including routing, switching, connectivity (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS), and cloud network integration
• Lead datacenter migration and complex network upgrade projects, including modernization of legacy firewall, load balancer, and networking stacks

Automation & Modern Delivery

• Enforce automation-first delivery using Terraform and Ansible for all infrastructure and network security deployments
• Ensure implementations follow Infrastructure-as-Code principles, Git-driven workflows, and repeatable deployment patterns
• Collaborate with DevOps and cloud teams to integrate network and security controls into CI/CD pipelines
• Create and document network service offerings by automating repeatable deployments into standardized, reusable service

Communication & Stakeholder Management

• Interface directly with application owners, project managers, architects, and operations as the technical authority throughout delivery
• Provide status updates, risk assessments, and technical direction to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Participate in governance reviews, design approvals, and operational transition processes
• Be a Network SME to key Business and Technology stakeholders — translating complex infrastructure decisions into clear business impact

• Minimum 7+ years in infrastructure, network engineering, or network security roles with increasing scope and responsibility
• Proven track record leading technical delivery of complex, multi-stakeholder infrastructure projects end-to-end
• Strong background deploying and migrating network security and application networking solutions at enterprise scale
• Experience guiding SMEs, reviewing their technical work, and holding delivery to a high standard of quality and consistency
• Hands-on expertise with enterprise firewalls — Palo Alto Networks required (Panorama, NGFW, policy design)
• Hands-on expertise with application load balancing — F5 BIG-IP required (LTM, GTM, iRules, WAF)
• In-depth knowledge of routing and switching protocols: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS
• Experience with SD-WAN, SASE, and network access management solutions
• Proficiency with Terraform and/or Ansible for automated infrastructure deployment
• Hands-on experience with Cisco ACI and datacenter fabric environments
• Comfortable stepping into hands-on engineering to validate designs or accelerate delivery when needed

Leadership & Delivery

• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills — equally effective with engineers, architects, and business leaders
• Experience delivering in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban)
• Ability to manage competing priorities, delivery risk, and technical dependencies across multiple parallel initiative

• Experience with Azure networking services and cloud-native network security (AZ-700 or equivalent experience)
• Exposure to Cloudflare or CDN/edge security technologies
• Familiarity with payment systems or merchant acquiring environments
• Industry certifications: PCNSE (Palo Alto), F5 Certified, or Microsoft Azure Networking (AZ-700)
