Cyber Security Engineer, Audit & Authorization

Amida is looking for a Cyber Security Engineer (Audit & Authorization) to join our team in Washington, DC. The Audit & Authorization (A&A) process is a comprehensive assessment and/or evaluation of an information system policies, technical / non-technical security components, documentation, supplemental safeguards, policies, and vulnerabilities. The A&A process establishes the extent to which a particular design and implementation meets a set of specified security requirements defined by the organization, government guidelines, and federal mandates in a formal authorization package.

What you will do:

• Evaluate the security posture of Department of Veterans Affairs/Department of Defense systems and participate in operations to ensure compliance and Authority to Operate,
• Conducting a security audit of technical and nontechnical threats and vulnerabilities, remediating findings and providing all required technical documentation and mitigation plans.
• Diagnose and update the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Authorization Package for the government.
• Provide Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM) and provide access to Enterprise Mission
• Assurance Support Services (eMASS) and the Department of Veteran Affairs to fulfill the ISO and ISSE roles in eMASS throughout the RMF pack updating.
• Support cross functional teams, through the process redesign and delivery of processes, develop timelines, and manage gate reviews for kickoff and intermediate progress updates to leadership.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's degree AND
• 10+ years of prior relevant experience in Cybersecurity.
• Familiarity with the following technologies: TCP/IP, DHCP, WAN/LAN interface technologies, DNS, subnetting, Windows PowerShell, bash, and Active Directory.

Preferred Skills:

• Bachelor's degree AND;
• 8+ years of experience in Cybersecurity.
• CISSP Certification
• Experience in evaluation of systems for compliance with Federal security standards such as NIST 800-171, NIST 800-53, and CMMC
• VA Experience
• Experience with eMASS
• Experience working in a NOC in an IT security capacity
• Experience working on Federal contracts in an IT security capacity.
